We interviewed place2play.ru stand-in Filip "Neo" Kubski after his team's 2-1 defeat to Anexis, which could well have been the Polish star's last competitive game in CS: 1.6.

The Russia-based team took the lead in the tie after a comfortable victory on a one-sided de_tuscan, but then fell short to the Danish team on de_inferno and de_train, losing those two maps in overtime.

With ESC Gaming switch to CS:GO, this may have been the last competitive 1.6 match played by Kubski, who has won almost every major CS title there is to win.

In this interview, the Polish sensation comments on the team's defeat to Anexis, the most special moment in his 1.6 career and also his expectations about CS:GO.

You lost to Anexis 2-1 in what was your last 1.6 game. What are your thoughts?

I am a little bit disappointed because we were so strong on the first map, but then we started losing and in overtimes things got serious and we kept losing rounds. I hope there is going to be something more in 1.6, but if not, then it is sad.

Do you think that the team was perhaps a little bit overconfident?

I think that was the problem. We were too confident and we lost stupid rounds. It was a stupid defeat by us.

If you look back at your career in 1.6, what was the most special moment?

I have no idea, every year was different. In 2002 and 2003, there was a big fight between my team and the team of TaZ and LUq. During the first travels, there were lots of adventures, like going to Spain by car or having no place to sleep in Sweden. Since 2006, we have been winning a lot, so it has been great. My favourite title would be the last Extreme Masters, that was one of the biggest events with the top teams, and also WCG 2006, which was our first big title.

Moving on to CS:GO, you have a tournament in Poland coming up. How will you prepare for it?

We are going to practice a lot in these two weeks to get ready for that because we have heard some rumours about a Polish team that will beat us. That would be a big thing in Poland because we have not lost in almost 10 years, so it will be an important event.

Looking at the Polish CS:GO scene, which team do you fear the most?

There are two teams, one that played in 1.6, with former players of DELTA [Drunken Globus] and one former CS:Source player, and also Banana Phone. The rumours say the latter are very strong and that they say they are going to beat us.

You have been playing CS:GO for a while now. Does your team stand any chance right now against teams like VeryGames or Ninjas in Pyjamas?

At this moment, I think we would lose badly to NiP, since we have had a break, but if we practice, we will have our chances, but it is going to be very hard.
